This project was a challenge of co-designing with another person's life event. My randomly selected partner Aislynn would be moving to Georgia and I was tasked with designing an invitation with her. I began the process by trying to empathize with and understand her conflicting emotions about the move. Because the place was a significant element of the move, I researched the city she would be moving to and found one of the prominent historical buildings was a courthouse with a clocktower. This symbolized time and it’s importance included freedom, adventure, and discovery. My “invitation” would take the form of a postcard with strong gradients that symbolized the movement filled with hope and possibility. The final product included a velum handwritten note, a clocktower postcard, a photograph, and a map envelope.
